good things come in pairs.

one of the perks of being a bride is that you make up the rules to your wedding. who said emily post has to run the show?

for our little beach wedding, we went wild making up our "new rules." {cue bill maher!} one of the first?

i get to have a 2nd dress.

don't get me wrong. i truly, madly, deeply love my wedding dress. it's perfect for me in every way and i feel like i should be going to the oscars when i put it on...it's so fancy!

but that's the thing - after we do the "i do's," i want to let loose - twirl around my flower girl nieces, say hey to everyone on the beach and do the dougie on the dance floor. and i can't do them in dreamy dress no.1.

hence the new rule for dress no.2 - the party dress!

and, in true bargainista form, i was hell bent on finding a fabulous frock at a fraction of the price. i had considered a few options, but they were still too much $$$.  so i took a break and waited for some deeper discounts.

cue the holidays.

as an insider in the fashion/retail world, let me tell you that there are 2 times a year when you'll find the most "omg-i-can't-believe-how-freaking-cheap-that-is" deals - december and july. it's the time where shops need to get rid of their seasonal inventory - FAST - before the new season begins. and just like that, magical signs like "70% off" and "take an additional 40% off" start popping up everywhere.

and that's when i go shopping.

so today, i spent a good hour on gilt groupe's final sale pages - cute - and crazy cheap - dresses, but nothing in the "2nd wedding dress" arena. then i went back to my new favorite online outlet shop, the outnet {net-a-porter's online outlet}, to check out the goods. and the goods? they were GOOD....and a lot of them? 70% off. all right - it was time to go shopping!

it only took a few minutes before i saw it.

then it took me another few minutes to make sure there wasn't a better deal for this dress on another online shop {there wasn't}.

and then - click, click, click - i bought it!

after lots of bargain hunting, dress no. 2 has been found. i'll be getting it in a week - YAY!!!!

want a sneak peek???

here she is! friends, i'd like you to meet miss wedding dress no. 2....

isn't she cute? wedding dress no. 2 is also known as the beaded silk trapeze dress by milly. she's short and breezy so i can play, romp and boogie all night long. but she has just enough glam to feel wedding-y.

and she cost a little over $100. SCORE!

friends, what are your favorite spots for bargain hunting? any recent treasures? i love your shopping stories!

xo,
s
